Mission

The members of the Antioch Rivertown Preservation Society (RPS) endeavor to preserve, protect, and beautify the historic neighborhood known as Rivertown.

The goals of this Society include:

to restore a sense of pride for those who live, work and play in Rivertown;

to foster an appreciation for its value to the community;

to apply municipal codes which bring harmony to the neighborhood;

to encourage civic and private funding for the purposes of restoration and renovation;

and to promote infill projects which are harmonious to the historic character of Rivertown.

The history and growth of Antioch's first 80 years is reflected by the many surviving architectural styles of homes and business, therefore, the Rivertown Preservation Society seeks to gain city recognition by ordinance and State recognition by inclusion on the California State Registry for Historical District.
